So how are some ways we can use the \u4e0b (xi\u00e0) character?<br \/>\nA: I would say &#8216;\u6211\u5728\u697c\u4e0b\u3002&#8217; which means &#8216;I&#8217;m downstairs.&#8217;<br \/>\nN: Hey, didn&#8217;t you say that last week?<br \/>\nA: No, no&#8230;<br \/>\nN: Oh&#8230;you said &#8216;\u6211\u5728\u697c\u4e0a&#8217;. Which means what?<br \/>\nA: Ohhhhh &#8216;\u6211\u5728\u697c\u4e0a\u3002&#8217; means I&#8217;m upstairs, so it&#8217;s the opposite meaning.<br \/>\nN: So, you&#8217;re coming downstairs now. I have to leave to leave the building.<br \/>\nA: Sometimes I prefer to stay on the first floor of the building&#8230;<br \/>\nN: On the ground. So let&#8217;s have a look at those \u4e0b videos that you sent us this week.<\/p>\n<p>[Scavenger Sunday video montage]<\/p>\n<p>A: Thanks guys for sending us those \u4e0b photos and videos last week.<br \/>\nN: Nice job! Don&#8217;t be shy!<br \/>\nA: So for next week&#8217;s character we want you to take photos and videos of the \u5341 (sh\u00ed) character which means 10 in Chinese.<br \/>\nN: Yeah, actually it&#8217;s funny when I first came to China I didn&#8217;t know how to count in Chinese and I would ask the price of something and the shop keeper would be doing this [makes X with fingers]. And I though it was like &#8216;Stay away, stay away!&#8217; but really it&#8217;s means \u5341 (sh\u00ed) because it looks like a cross.
